My Basket

I was really enjoying reading everyone's sales shopping posts so I thought I would write one of my own since I indulged in some bargain hunting myself pre and post Christmas.

My Basket

Firstly were the online bargains. I had been lusting after this stunning ASOS skirt for months now and knew I would never pay almost €93 for it so when I saw it went on sale for just over €55 last week I ordered it straight away. I absolutely love it! I plan on wearing it with a plain black t-shirt and heeled boots or with my oatmeal coloured jumper tucked into it.

The Zara Rhinestone necklace and Animal Print Messenger bag were two other items I was after for ages. I ordered them online for €14.99 and €19.99 respectively (originally €22.95 and €29.95). They are yet to arrive but I'm hoping there just as nice in person.

I saw the Jumper and Top in Zara while I was browsing and decided to buy them without trying them on first, something I rarely do, but luckily when I tried them on at home I loved both. What drew me to the jumper was the colour, I love that pale blue shade, even though I never wear it so I thought I would try it out.  Another selling point for me was that it's 100% wool so it's really warm and at €12.99 it's a great bargain.

The top was €9.99 and has faux leather around the neck and a panel on the sleeves which are semi-batwing. Who doesn't love a good striped top, the details on this one make it just different enough to justify buying it. It's not available in the stripe version online anymore, just black or burgundy, however you could probably still find it in stores.  The jumper was €19.99 full price and the top was €14.95.

I was looking for a leopard print coat all Winter so when I saw this one reduced from €79.99 to €24 in New Look I had to get it. It's a boyfriend fit, the same as my grey H&M one and is quite warm considering how lightweight it is. It also like that it's a different colour from the usual leopard print coats.

What do you think of my purchases? Did you pick up any bargains in the sales?

Locket of Style

I'm quite partial to a glitter nail polish as seen here, here and here and there's no better time of the year to get your glitter out than December. I wanted to share two of my current favourite sparkly polishes that I've been wearing this month.

CL2 CL5

This eye-catching silver from Ciaté is called Locket and it's such a stunner!

CN1 CN2

Essie Summit of Style is a bronze toned glitter top coat that I paired with No7 Moonlit Shadow, a special nail polish to me because it's the one I wore for the campaign photo shoot last year.

What's on your nails at the moment?

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, mine was wonderful, despite only getting one day off work. I feel very blessed to have had such a great Christmas with my friends and family.

You Could Be My Silver Spring, Blue Green Colors Flashing

Last week I was sent the most amazing Christmas package from the lovely people at Swarovski which included some items from their #SwarovskiPerfectGift Christmas Collection.

I was so excited to style a Christmas look wearing the pieces. I immediately knew I wanted to wear my dark green velvet dress, some faux fur and of course some red lipstick.

SPG17

I wanted to create a Christmas day outfit, something festive and sparkly but still comfortable and cosy. I loved this dress as soon as I saw it because it reminded me of one I had for Christmas when I was little.

Baron Pierced Earrings

These earrings are stunning, much more so in person. Unfortunately photographs don't do them justice, you really need to see them sparkling when they catch the light. I feel like they aren't too much, the perfect Christmas day earrings, I'll definitely be wearing them on Christmas day.

Stardust Gray and Light Multi Bracelets

The Stardust bracelets are a great gift because they come in lots of different colours and with either a silver or gold magnetic clasp in two different sizes so there's one to suit everyone. There are double wrap versions too. They look lovely layered up or worn alone.

Emily Bracelet

I adore this tennis bracelet. It's such a classic piece and a great addition to my jewellery collection as it's so dainty and versatile. It also has an extender with a crystal in the centre to make it a bit bigger. I can see myself wearing this layered with my gold watch as I think it would look great with silver or mixed with gold.

SPG9.1 SPG19 SPG21.1

Each Christmas Swarovski has an amazing collection of ornaments featuring Christmas tree decorations and figurines that make really special gifts.

SPG22

Dress and Boots- Monsoon
Coat- Boohoo
Lipstick- MAC Ruby Woo
Nails- Essie After School Boy Blazer; Revlon Stunning

How cute is this little penguin! They also have a Disney collection with the cutest Winnie the pooh figurines that I know my sister would love.

This is definitely not jewellery I would wear on a daily basis, although they do some beautiful simple pieces that can be worn every day. Instead I will save these for special occasions.

Check out the Swarovski.com and tell me what your #SwarovskiPerfectGift would be.

The One Minute Facial

At the beginning of the Summer I attended press day to learn about an innovative new product from one of my favourite skincare brands, REN. This review is a little bit wordy as I wanted to explain the science behind it all (and I find it really interesting and thought you might too).

RFR1

I participated in a session with David Delport, a skincare expert with REN to learn about the Flash Rinse One Minute Facial. He explained the concept behind the product, the research involved in creating it and gave a demonstration as to how it works.

The idea was to create a product that gave the skin the look and feeling of having just had a facial but without the time commitment and expense. The people at REN found that the best way to achieve that fresh, just had a facial skin was to provide a potent and fresh dose of Vitamin C that would boost the skins radiance, give firmness and make you look more awake.

RFR2

They found a way to stabilise the 10% Vitamin C in a silica/glyceride matrix which means that it doesn't activate or oxidise before use.

The three main ingredients are Vitamin C (which stimulates collagen production, provides help with skin elasticity, reduces UV damage and evens out the skin tone), Boswellic Acid (extracted from the Boswellia Serrata Tree found in Northern and Central India contains anti- inflammatory properties and relaxes the muscles, fights facial fatigue and diminishes the appearance of fine lines) and Magnesium (which is an essential mineral for the cells and because it consists of tiny crystals it has recently been used by skincare companies to mimic the texture of the crystals used in microdermabrasion).

RFR3

The product has a gel like texture that feels slightly gritty upon application. Once applied, massage it into the skin before adding water to activate the Vitamin C, leave it for one minute and then rinse.

I'm a huge fan of REN skincare so I had high hopes for this product and after trialling it for a few months I am so impressed with what it does for my skin. Firstly, I love the texture and fresh scent. It  feels like it is exfoliating your skin before you activate the Vitamin C. I have been saving this for days when I'm feel like my skin needs a quick fix like before an event or the morning after a big night when you're not feeling the best but need to hide it. I love how fresh my skin looks after using this, it immediately evens out my skin tone and gives it radiance.

It can be used every three days but I tend to stick to my Invisible Pores Detox Mask once a week and then use this as needed, which I think is a much better way to conserve what I consider to be a product on the more expensive end of the scale and to prevent my skin from getting too used to it's effects.

It retails for approximately €38 and can be found in Arnotts, Space NK and the Marks and Spencers beauty hall as well as on Look Fantastic, HQHair and Cloud 10 Beauty.

What are your go-to quick skin fix products?

A Thousand Words #9

It's nice looking back at all of these photos, September was such a fun month! I attended some press events at the beginning of the month and we also went over to London to see KATE BUSH! It was my first proper trip to London as I didn't get to actually see that much on my flying visit for the photo shoot last December.  I loved it so much and can't wait to go back again and explore more of London.

It was a surreal experience to finally see Kate Bush live after hearing her songs for most of my life. I feel so privileged to be one of the few people who got to see her. Hearing the first bars of Hounds of Love brought me to tears, the emotions that came over me hearing a song I have heard countless times throughout my life being sung live was overwhelming, I will never forget what a magical night it was
