Face of the Day- Haute Chocolate

This make up look is the one I wore when we took my latest outfit photos. I wanted something fresh and pretty that wouldn't detract from or clash with the bright pink coat I was wearing. This is what I came up with and I think it would be ideal for any occasion because it's so subtle.

I began by using my current favourite foundation, Lancôme Miracle Air de Teint in the shade Beige Porcelaine which from what I can tell is the third lightest shade. I won't go too much into my thoughts on this because I have an entire blog post drafted reviewing it in detail. However I think the photos speak for themselves, this is a beautiful foundation.

I think I tend to apply my make up in a different order to most other people. From what I've seen on Youtube and more recently on Snapchat, the majority of people tend to apply their entire face make up first and then brows and eyes. After foundation I usually curl my lashes, apply eyeshadow primer and then fill in my brows because I feel like they anchor the face so much and nothing else looks right until they are done.

I was given this Too Faced palette as a gift from the lovely Emma (if you haven't yet read her blog, it's wonderful!). I've been playing around with it over the past few months and I've been really enjoying creating different looks with it. It's one of the only palettes I have that isn't Urban Decay so it had a lot to live up to. I'm very impressed with the shade range, pigmentation and quality of this palette (and the fact that it smells like chocolate, I can't stop sniffing it while I'm using it!). I'm drawn back to it again and again and I've found this is one of my favourite eyeshadow combinations in the palette so far. I applied Marzipan all over the lid (the second shade from left on the middle row) and Haute Chocolate on the outer corner (third from left on the bottom row). Then I applied White Chocolate under the brows and Champagne Truffle on the inner corners (the two largest shades).

I finished off the eyes with my all time favourite liquid liner, the Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion. I've written about it before but if you love liquid liner and you havent tried this one yet, you really need to check it out. The brush is slim so you can get a thin line or build it up to a thicker winged line if you prefer. The waterproof formula makes it ideal for all day wear. You'll need an oil based make up remover to take it off but that's the only downside to it, which I don't consider an issue because I use an oil based remover anyway. The mascara I'm using at the moment is the Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Curl which I have a review of here. I really like this mascara for daytime use as it holds a curl very well and gives length and definition.

To brighten under my eyes I used some YSL Touche Éclat which has become a firm favourite of mine since first trying it last year. I've actually used it every day since I got it and it's just run out so a repurchase of that is definitely necessary as soon as possible. I added some of the Clarins Instant Light Concealer under my eyes and on any redness or blemishes which thankfully there aren't too many of at the moment.

I added a touch of NYX Blush in Taupe under my cheekbones, Benefit Sugarbomb on my cheeks and theBalm May-Lou Manizer on my cheekbones and a little down the centre of my nose. I finished my skin off with No7 Perfect Light Loose Powder on the centre of my face, my forehead and chin.

I applied a light coat of Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect lipstick because like I said above I didn't want the make up to be too much with the outfit. This is my go to nude for when I've done my eyes. I can't really wear this unless I'm wearing noticeable eye make up.

Darling, I Love You As You Are When You're Alone

I had a rare weekday off last week so we took advantage and got the train to Dun Laoghaire for the afternoon. We went for lunch in a cute restaurant called Gourmet Food Parlour. It was freezing but we still took a walk down the pier and stopped along the way to take some outfit photos.

Coat- Dunnes Stores Såvida (similar here and here)
Top- New Look (similar here)
Jeans- Dorothy Perkins Casey
Bag- Stella and Dot The Waverley Petite
Earrings- H&M
Shoes- Clarks Hotel Chic (Available on Amazon)
Watch- Stella and Dot Icon Convertible Watch (c/o)
Lipstick- Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect

So obviously the bright pink coat is the reason I wanted to photograph this outfit. I saw it in Dunnes at the beginning of January and fell in love. It's totally not a colour I would usually gravitate towards, in fact I think it's one of only two pink items of clothing that I own.  It's kind of oversized and not exactly the most flattering shape but I absolutely adore it.

Continuing my obsession with tassel jewellery, I saw these earrings in H&M and thought I didn't need them but after a second look I had to buy them, I think they look a lot more expensive than their price tag of only €7.99. The bag was one of those purchases I had been thinking about since I saw it at a Stella and Dot press day last year. I bought it in January after getting a Christmas bonus in my new job. I love the suede and brushed metallic mix and it can also be used as a clutch as the strap is removable. This particular style comes in lots of different patterns and colours, in fact my sister has the tan and stripe one which is such a cute cross body bag for Summer.

The Clarks shoes were one of my few Christmas sale purchases. I saw these in early Autumn and loved them so when they went into sale I picked them up immediately. The metallic finish actually matches that of my bag.

Before I bought this polo neck top I don't think I'd worn one since I was a kid. I just love how warm it is having my neck covered. I just think they're such a chic Winter wardrobe staple. These jeans are the relaxed skinny fit from Dorothy Perkins. I don't really shop there but I was browsing one day and came across these jeans. I loved the relaxed fit and charcoal shade, they're so comfortable on and a great price too, I'm definitely going to get them in another colour.

Lastly my watch was given to me at a press day and I've been reluctant to wear it because I love it so much and don't want to ruin it. I love the rose gold cut-out strap which you can actually interchange with other straps that are sold separately. I have a black leather double strap and they also come with a silver bezel so you can totally change the look of the watch depending on what you're wearing.

Tell me some of your current wardrobe favourites!
