I have been wanting to try the Half Magic Beauty single eyeshadow, ‘Blushing Lizard’ since it was released last year but it was almost always out of stock on Beauty Bay. I finally managed to nab it when it came back in stock in January (it’s since gone out of stock again but is available on the Half Magic website). I actually bought the Urban Decay Moondust in the shade Solstice too as I was curious about how they compared. I filmed a Reel for Instagram comparing both which you can see here and I've included some comparison photos below too. Blushins Lizard is described as a “mauve taupe with blue reflects”. When worn alone it’s quite sheer which makes it an excellent topper as it transforms any shade you choose to wear beneath it. I wore this exact look a couple of times before I filmed it I had a couple of people comment on the eyeshadow when I was out and about, so I thought it would be a good one to film since it was an IRL hit. It’s such an easy but impactful look and I kept the rest of the colour makeup in the same colour family so that it was more cohesive.

I’ve been wearing the Fenty Beauty Fu$$y gloss quite a bit recently as it’s one of my favourites (and a repurchase, you can see some blog posts of me wearing it here) and I hadn’t worn it in a while. I thought it was the perfect shade to go with this look and I even did the recent ‘double gloss’ trend I saw from Fenty and I love how it looks, as long as the glosses aren’t too thick it looks great!

Recreating Emma Chamberlain's Lancôme Makeup Look by Lisa Eldridge

When I saw this makeup look on Emma Chamberlain on the Lancôme YouTube Channel at the end of January, I thought it must be the work of Lisa Eldridge. She then posted it on Instagram the following week and I knew I’d have to try to recreate it. It has everything I love in a makeup look- graphic liner, wet-look shimmer, a defined inner corner and different shades of blue.

One of the things I love about recreating the work of a Makeup Artist is the challenge of finding products in my collection that can replicate the look as closely as possible. I like to go through my collection and use what I already have which can lead to using combinations I've never tried before and using products in a different way. It's also interesting to see how the makeup looks on another person who has different features and perhaps adjust the look accordingly.

I included the application video of this look below if you'd like to see how I did it but I also wanted to write about some of the products I used in more detail. I began by using the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Foundation of course. You can read my review if you'd like to know my full thoughts and see before and after photos. I just saw yesterday that she is launching a new base product, the Enhancing Tint next week. I am so excited to try it as her foundation is truly a masterpiece and the Enhancing Tint sounds like my kind of everyday base product. I mentioned recently that I'm almost finished the foundation so I've been using it sparingly but as you can see from the photos below it has such a beautiful finish on the skin. This is such a striking eye look so I wanted my skin to look quite fresh but even toned. A thin layer of the Seamless Skin Foundation is ideal for that kind of coverage.

I began the eyes with a navy Lancôme eyeliner, Le Stylo Waterproof which is a long-wearing formula. You do get some play time to blend it out which is what I did to create a wing on my upper lash line. I lined my upper and lower waterline with this liner too. I used some of my favourite blue eye products to create the graphic inner corner and inner eyelid. The Half Magic Chromaddiction Matte in Sky Juice is the perfect periwinkle blue and the formula allows me to use it almost like a liquid liner. One of my favourite Urban Decay products from recent years is the Naked X Robin Eisenberg palette. I'm such a fan of blue eyeshadow shades and this palette has such gorgeous shades in it including this beautiful matte periwinkle blue that I've used again and again. In the eye look on Emma, you can see a wet-look shimmer eyeshadow in the centre of the eyelid and the lower lash line and I couldn't think of anything that would look better than the shade Mercurial from Lisa's Sorcery Eyeshadow Palette. It's one of the most special eyeshadow shades I have ever used. You can read my full review of the palette here

I finished the look by using the Velveteen Liquid Lip Colour in both Fawn and Muse mixed together on both lips and cheeks. (I'll be writing my review of the Velveteens soon!) For the cheeks, I mixed them with the Elevated Glow Highlighter in Pink Moon which is what I usually do with any liquid blush. I like the cohesion of using the same products for both lips and cheeks and how the warmth of the products contrasts against the blues of the eyes.

I absolutely loved recreating this look, it made me gasp when I first saw it and those kinds of looks don't come across my social media too often. I hope it's helpful to see everything up close, I'd love to know if you've tried any of these products.
