Every Time It Rains- Part One

Greeting from the West of Ireland!

So I didn't think I would be posting until Sunday at least but the internet down here is actually quite good considering the the desolation of the area we're in. We left for Cork at 12pm on Sunday and we didn't arrive in the house until 8.30. We stopped off for lunch and to wait for the other car so we could get the keys to the house and drive ahead and then we got lost and couldn't find the house so it took us about 2 hours more than it should have. Needless to say we were all completely wrecked when we arrived. There was also a situation where there was four less beds then we were told were here so some people had to sleep on couches and the people that were supposed to come down on Tuesday were told not to bother as there wasn't enough room for them so that was a bit crap and I have to admit when we arrived on Sunday evening I kind of wanted to go straight home. Having said that it's actually been loads of fun so far!

We made dinner on Sunday evening and watched The Room which everyone loved. Yesterday we took it easy and went for a walk looking for location we could use. There's a gorgeous view of a lake and the sea from the house. We shot some stuff last night and again today and we've also been watching a lot of comedy shows like SNL, The Life and Times of Tim, Assy McGee and Childrens Hospital.

I've been listening to a lot of music which has been great. It's just so refreshing to be in the countryside with no one and nothing around for miles. The city can be so claustrophobic it's a lovely change to be able to breathe fresh air and look at some beautiful scenery instead of pollution, drunken bums and piles of sick (sorry for the imagery there, but it's true!)

One thing that's somewhat hampering my complete enjoyment is that I got a voicemail from work yesterday saying we are having a staff meeting on Wednesday evening and that I needed to attend if I could. I rang back to say I was away and couldn't be there and could I get a general jist of the reason for the meeting but of course I got the whole "oh we can't tell you until everyone else knows", so basically, they're not going to tell me what it's about until I'm back in work on Monday which to me is completely ridiculous and unfair. My manager told me it was bad news, but not awful so that's really reassuring. Haha! My suspicion is that we're getting a pay cut because they can't really cut staff any more than they already have or there won't be anyone working there at all! I don't want to think about it because it's out of my control anyway whatever it is. I'll update you on the news in my next post.

So here are some photos from Sunday and Monday. I'll be taking more photos of the area tomorrow so hopefully I'll get another post up tomorrow or Thursday.

Hope you're all having a great week!
