Still Shot

I've worn this look a few times since getting the Urban Decay Born to Run palette (from the lovely Sharon Leavy who kindly sent it to me). I was immediately excited to wear this shade when I first got the palette, it's a coral/orange that's such a great shade to bring out green or blue eyes. Always a fan of a single eyeshadow look I applied just this shade on my lids and under my eyes, blended it out and added a touch of the shade Stranded (a warm gold) on the inner corner. A small wing with some gel liner and lots of mascara and I was done with the eyes.

A couple of months ago I bought the SkinCeuticals Mineral Radiance UV Defense SPF 50. I had spent a while researching facial SPFs looking for a good one. Especially for during the Summer months as I ended up getting some pigmentation last year when I was on holiday and I really wanted to prevent any further damage. I try and avoid being in the sun for a prolonged time (especially now that I regularly use acids in my skincare routine) but when I am in the sun I want to make sure I'm using really good quality sun protection on my face. The SkinCeuticals one came quite highly recommended. It wasn't easy to find, there didn't seem to be many stockists in Dublin but I ended up finding it in the South William Spa on South William Street. It was €41, so not cheap, but you get 50ml of product and I tend to save it for days when I'm going to be outside for a while. There's not much point in me wearing it if I'm going to be in work all day.  It's a lightweight formula that blends in easily and I actually really like that it's tinted. It's enough coverage for me if I'm having a good skin day, I can just add concealer and I'm good to go.

The only thing to consider is that the tint could be too dark if you're skin is any lighter than mine. Other than that I really like how it looks and feels on my skin, I've worn it alone and with foundation over it and it works great either way. As it's mineral sun protection it's less likely to make you break out and the tint means you don't get that white cast on your skin that you can quite often get from physical sunscreens.

I used the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick on a few areas where I wanted some extra coverage. I've had this for a while now and I prefer it to the liquid version of Teint Idole. I love how easy it is to use, it's not what I had imagined from a stick foundation which I always assumed would be thick and dry. It almost heats up on contact with your skin so it glides on and blends out easily with your fingers or a brush which I prefer. I almost use it as a concealer because it's got great coverage. If you prep your skin right, it can be blended out to a more sheer finish or built up if you want more coverage. I used the Pixi Glow Mist before I applied the foundation (which I've been doing a lot lately) and it really helped to prime my skin and could be good if you have more dry skin and want to use this foundation. However it's an ideal foundation for oily/combination skin types as it's oil-free and long wearing.

I used Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam on my cheeks as it's almost exactly the same shade as the eyeshadow and finished the look with the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in the shade Fu$$y. The weather has been quite warm here so I've been making sure to powder my t-zone but then I use Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to both set everything and make it more long lasting in the hot weather and it also takes away that powdery look. It just means you get extra longevity but you don't have to compromise on your skin looking glowy. All Nighter could also be great if you have more dry skin and don't like using powder but still want a way of setting your makeup. It's honestly a makeup wearers best friend in the Summer!
