Location Scouting

Today I went location scouting in Wicklow for one of the films Donnacha has written and is directing. He will be filming two feature films during the first few weeks of January so it's all go at the moment. He's super busy working with the producer, assistant director and director of photography trying to get everything organised as well as rehearsing with the two actors who will be playing the leads in both features! Here is a link to the blog he has set up about the films, please check it out if you get a chance! I went along today with Donnacha, Cathal the producer and Dave the AD to explore some farmhouses we hope to use in one of the films. I hope to be helping out on both films as a general production assistant during my week off in January and after work the week before I'm off too.

I wanted to share with you some photos I took of the locations, they were both very creepy 150 year old farmhouses with quite derelict interiors (and exteriors) but hopefully you can see from the photos the general idea of what we are looking for.

So what do you think of the photos? Super creepy right? My favourite one is the one of the flowers in the field.

Hope you had a good weekend! It feels so great that I don't have to get up for work in the morning!

So Stay On My Arm You Little Charmer

This is what I wore to work today.

Okay so I had links to everything I'm wearing but for some reason blogger didn't autosave my post before I published it and then when I viewed the post there was just the title there :( so if you want info on anything just mail me and I'd be happy to give you any info you need! The close up of the lips is to show you more clearly the new Rimmel Heartbreaker lipstick I bought last week. The scarf is the only new thing, I think you've seen everything else already. This oufit is a remix of two pieces I've worn in my last two outfit posts.

I went to see the new Harry Potter film today with some friends. I loved it! The films just seem to get better with each one. I'm really looking forward to the final one now! I also found a faux fur snood in Penneys for just €6! I've been looking for one for a while now and any I liked were too expensive for my budget. I bought a faux fur hat in the same colour as the snood too for only €4. It reminds me of the one Jen from Jen Loves Kev is wearing in this post and also this one;

I'm off work for a week now! I'm so looking forward to the time off, I'm planning on spending it wisely including some adventures, Christmas shopping and much needed R 'n' R!

Hope you had a good week! Got any plans for the weekend?

Neutral Eyes

Hey everyone! I just wanted to do a quick post to show you how I did my eyes with the Revlon eye shadow palette I bought the other day. I used it for work this morning and although I did it in a hurry I think it turned out pretty well! I normally just wear Benefit's Leggy shadow and No. 7s Innocence and then some liquid eye liner and then a strong colour lipstick, but it's nice every now and again to spend some time on doing my eye shadow in different shades. I always use Benefits Lemon Aid eye lid primer because I find it really helps the colour stay in place all day and some brown eye liner and shadow on my bottom lash line. This is a great colour palette because it has a khaki green, chocolate brown, ivory and a gold colour all of which seem to suit my colouring. What do you think of it?

Hope you're having a good week so far! I'm going to see the new Harry Potter tomorrow with my friend, I haven't read the books but I do enjoy the films.

Some Blogs I Love

Since the lovely Carrie of WishWishWish has written about some of her favourite blogs in her latest post I got inspired and thought I would blatantly copy her and do the same thing. I've been meaning to since I started this blog and I haven't as of yet. Since joining the blogging world as a reader at first last year I have come across hundreds of amazing people through my reading of their blogs. I try to read as many as I can every day, but I also love to leave a build up of posts and spend a while reading on rainy afternoons. Since you probably already know some of my favourites (if you've read my blog before) or from my blogroll on the right hand side, I thought I'd share with you some more favourites. Hopefully you'll find them as enjoyable as I do!

Casey

Casey's blog is the first I read when I started reading blogs last year. I discovered it through a video she posted on youtube for vintage hairstyles when I was doing some research for how to wear my hair for a wedding (that I ended up not going to). I loved her videos and then when I discovered her blog I was hooked! I love how she mixes vintage style with handmade items and cute details. She's so talented at making her own clothes (something I still want to do myself) and posts the most detailed and helpful how to guides to sewing and her vintage patterns are amazing. I suppose it's really Casey that first inspired me to start my own blog. She also seems like a really nice person! Check out her blog Casey Brown Designs here!

Maebh

Maebh, or cool Maebh as we call her is actually a friend of mine and Donnachas. Donnacha met her in our college drama society back in first year of college five years ago! I didn't even know she had a blog until she posted a link to it on her facebook page and then I discovered she has three! What I love about Maebh's blog is that she takes almost daily photographs around Dublin city and county of the most ordinary and mundane things and makes them look beautiful and interesting! Dublin Snaps is her daily photo blog, Curious Mermaid is her street art and graffiti photo blog and Beauty is in the Eye of the Clutch Holder is her style/fashion blog.

Jen (and Kev and Rowan)

I'm pretty sure I discovered Jen loves Kev through Lulu Letty. I read through her archive one day and then began following daily through her accounts of how her pregnancy was going as well as her style files. What I love about Jen is her complete honesty. She's so willing to be open with her readers and ask for advice about being a new mother. I love how she includes her beautiful family in her posts and informs us of little Rowan's developments. Jen also has the cutest style. I love how she puts things together and especially that she continued her style files through her pregnancy showing women that you can look just as stylish when you're pregnant. She really is an inspiration to mothers and bloggers everywhere!

Caroline

I think I found Cosmicaroline through a comment she left on my blog. Straight away I loved her diverse posts about style, make-up, photography, music, art and animals! She is always introducing me to new things. I'm always amazed at how beautiful and unique her outfits are, especially the little details like her nails and jewellery and gorgeous floral headpieces. She puts pieces together in such an unobvious way. She visited Ireland this summer but unfortunately I didn't get to meet her. She also sings in not one but two bands!

Jennifer

What immediately drew me to Jennifer's blog SallyJane Vintage was the amazing photographs of her. Her photos are always immaculate, taken in the most unusual and beautiful of places from fields to abandoned factories or just on a pretty street somewhere, they are always so stunning. She runs her own etsy shop full of gorgeous pieces and puts together such elegant outfits for her photos. There is something so calming and peaceful about her blog. She also has great taste in music!

Well there you have it, my pick of five blogs I love to read. I had such a hard time choosing which ones to share with you because there are so many I read and love. I couldn't include everyone but that doesn't mean I don't love you! I'll hopefully do another one of these soon so that I can share more great people with you. I also want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your lovely comments about my new hair and other things. I sincerely appreciate that you take the time to read about my little life.

Goodnight,

Love Emma xxx

My Kingdom For A Kiss Upon Her Shoulder

As promised here are the photos I wanted to take yesterday. I'm glad I got to take them today instead because the weather was really nice. The sky was blue and the air was crisp, but the sun warmed us up. I don't mind the coldness of the winter when the weather is like it was today.

My loafers are from gottabvintage on etsy, my hat is from ebay, my earrings are from Freedom at Topshop, the cardigan is my sisters and my skirt is from penneys.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Donnacha for being so generous and patient in taking these photos for me. Although sometimes it's hard to get across to him what I want with the photos, he always does an excellent job with them, probably because he sees things differently to how I see them. I'm so lucky to have someone who is so willing to do this for me and never complains about it even when I'm being a perfectionist or getting antsy when there's people around staring at us. He always wants to bring out the best in me and is always encouraging me to smile (not just in photos) which I am so thankful for because those are always my favourite shots. So thank you Donnacha for everything, you're the best boyfriend a girl could hope for!

Okay, the mushyness is over! Heehee! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend and that you're getting nice weather like we are here.

Today's post title is one of my favourite song lyrics. Jeff Buckley is just one of those people who had an incredible way with words, I could listen to his voice sing those beautiful words all day! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
