One Blogging Month Later

It's my one month anniversary! I'm quite proud of how I've kept up with this blogging business. I've found so many new and amazing blogs since I've started this process. I'm amazed at how many talented, interesting and dedicated people there are out there. I'm not surprised that for so many of you this is your full time job! Having said that I'm going to try and keep this post short and sweet because I'm trying to have a romantic evening with the boyfriend. We just had a lovely dinner of lemon and herb chicken, parmentier potatoes (that's garlic and onion potatoes to you and me), green beans, corn on the cob and sparkling rosé with profiteroles for dessert whilst listening to Billie Holiday. It was very very tasty and I have to say the rosé has gone straight to my head!

On Thursday I got a text from one of my friends informing me that there was a screening of my all time favourite film The Goonies in Dublin that night. Anyone who knows me, knows exactly how much I love this film. I don't know how many times I've seen it since I was a kid, but I know it's quite a lot. I know every part of the film by heart. So as you can imagine I was incredibly excited when I heard that it was playing in the cinema. I went straight over to the cinema after work and waited for an hour for it to open so I could get tickets. Apparently the cinema had been having an 80s season since the beginning of June through to August playing films including Ghostbusters, The Gremlins, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Terminator, Predator, Cinema Paradiso, The Breakfast Club and Top Gun. I'll definitely go and see Ferris Bueller and The Breakfast Club. So anyway I bought tickets for my sister, her boyfriend, my mam, my little brother and myself. My friend Maebh came along too which was great! I think I smiled for the entire duration of the film. It was such an amazing experience to see it on the big screen. People were queuing up around the corner to get a seat and it was also a Pirate themed screening so there were a lot of people dressed up as pirates! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them because I was too excited to think of it. The cinema was decorated with pictures and pirate flags too. I feel so lucky to have been able to experience it, thank you so much to Maebh for letting me know about it because if I had found out about it afterwards I think I would have been very upset! I'll probably write a more in depth post about what The Goonies means to me at a later stage. I really should keep up with Film Friday. Hopefully next week!

All excited with my ticket!

My boots arrived in the mail on Friday! I love them! They're as good as new and they fit me perfectly. They make me wish on the colder weather so I can wear them! Oh and I almost forgot, I was walking to the post office to collect my boots and I got stopped by 2 girls who asked if I would like to enter a style competition with a chance to win €1000! Of course I said yes so they took my photograph and my details. I can't remember what site they said it was for because I was sort of taken aback when it happened, but it was nice just for them to think I was worthy of being entered!

I'm going to say good evening now and Happy 4th of July! I'm going to a private outdoor July 4th party tomorrow that my mam won tickets for in a competition. Grease and the Blues Brothers are being shown outdoors! Hopefully I'll get some nice photos to show you.

I'll leave you with this

Goodnight, Em xoxo
