Six Month Anniversary Giveaway- These are a Few of My Favourite Things

*** Giveaway now Closed!***

So I told you at the weekend that I was planning a giveaway soon and that I was trying to think of a reason for it and decided I would do one for no reason at all. Then I remembered it is six months since my first blog post today! I figured that was a very good reason to have a little giveaway.

The giveaway contains:

A Box of Maltesers
Feathery Fake Eyelashes
Maybelline Line Definer Liquid Eye Liner
Benefit 'Wild Card' Full Finish Lipstick
Catrice 'The Devil Wears Red' Nail Lacquer
Accessorize Jewellery Box Heart Pendant

These are some of my favourite beauty products, one of my favourite necklaces and my favourite candy! I have been collecting these things for a while and I finally bought the necklace yesterday which was the last thing on my list. The fake eyelashes and eye liner are because I wear liquid eye liner almost every day to work and the fake eyelashes just give your eyelashes some extra fullness if you're going somewhere special. The lipstick is one of my favourite colours for Winter. I love Benefit products and these full finish lipsticks feel so nice on your lips. The nail lacquer is one of my favourite new brands for nail polish in one of my favourite colours, a dark cherry red. It is a very good quality, inexpensive nail polish in a gorgeous colour for Winter. And of course some maltesers, my favourite chocolate treat, lovely with a glass of cold milk or a hot cup of tea on these cold Winter days!

So there you have it, my anniversary giveaway. If you would like a chance to win these things, here's how;

  • Leave a comment telling me about a few of your favourite things- 1. Your favourite beauty product(s), 2. Your favourite film and why it's your favourite and 3. You favourite fictional character (TV, Film, Literature) and why!
  • Leave a way for me to contact you, preferably an email address.
The giveaway is open to international readers and non-followers, but please follow if you can! I don't have a huge amount of followers so whoever enters has a very good chance of winning. Heehee!

*EDIT- The giveaway will be open for a week, so it will close at midnight on Friday the 10th and I haven't decided yet whether I'll be using the trusty pulling a name out of a hat method or the more up to date random.org method to find the winner. I will let you know!

Hope you're week was better than mine! I'll tell you about my day of horror in the snow tomorrow. After a week of crazy weather, the ice and snow here are finally starting to melt, but who knows how long it will last!

Hope you have a nice cosy evening,

Emma xx

  1. Hi Emma!

I'm following you now and also on my google reader. This is a lovely giveaway, thank you! Some of my favourite things are:

    1. Favourite beauty product
Like you, I think liquid eyeliner is my favourite beauty product, I wear it every day although I haven't found a 'holy grail' one yet. I love how it gives a bit of drama to everyday makeup.

    2.My favourite film
This is a tough one because there are lots of films I love, and I'm a former film student! I think my most favourite film is Short Circuit 2. No, seriously! I know it's not a 'great' film, but I've loved it ever since I was a child. It's got a really cool robot, and it always makes my cry in the good way.

    3. My favourite fictional character
This is also really tough because I get very emotionally involved with fictional characters, especially on TV programmes. So, right now my boyfriend and I are watching Deadwood and I have real love for so many of the characters in it, it's almost as if they were real to me. But my longtime favourite fictional character is called Helen Gordon. She's the narrator of my favourite books: The Pineapple Tart, A Soft Touch and The Dolly Holiday by Irish author Anne Dunlop. Helen's sexy and smart, she's funny and she makes lots of mistakes and she is addicted to shopping in charity shops.

Anyway, those are my answers. Good luck with the giveaway and keep on blogging!

    2. My favourite film is If Only and I simply love it even though it cannot happen... but it makes you realize how much you cannot take your loved ones for granted.

    3. My favourite fictional character is Phoebe Halliwell from Charmed. I don't know why but I really loved her personality, style etc.

  5. Hello Emma!

Congratulations on your six month anniversary of your blog. May your readership continue to grow.

    1) Favorite beauty products: Estee Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow in "Mink", Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus, Estee Lauder Stay-in-Place EyeShadow Base, N.Y.C. Liquid Eyeliner in Pearlized Black, Elf makeup brushes and Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation.

    2) Favorite film and why: The Wizard of Oz is my all time favorite movie. This movie touched me in a way that has lasted my entire lifetime to this point. The movie has timeless lessons, parables and unforgettable characters. There is not a week that goes by that my husband and I don't mention The Wizard of Oz, usually a quote from the movie. Our latest Oz favorite quote is "Whatta world, whatta world ..." :-)

    3) Favorite fictional character: The cowardly lion from The Wizard of Oz. (put 'em up, put 'em up)

  6. Hello! I just found your blog (by way of your crazy snow ordeal story on hannah and landon) and I love it! Also, this giveaway is great too : )

    So let's see...

    1) Can favorite beauty products include face care..? I cannot live without my face wash Angels on Bare Skin by Lush. If not, mascara is definitely an essential for me...although I haven't found the perfect clump-free-non-waterproof-lengthening-and-thickening formula yet : (

2)Favorite film: Away We Go with John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph. I just love how they spend time searching for he perfect place to raise their baby and are able live without stability for a while. And then, of course, there is the happy ending where they end up back at a beautiful childhood home. Sigh. I could watch this movie for days...

3)Jane Eyre (by Charlotte Bronte). I'm a sucker for the classics. In a Literature class, we learned about a few novels and analyzed the social settings, cultures, etc of the time and what the author was saying with the stories...this may be the reason this is one of my favorite books but anyway. I love Jane Eyre because she puts up with so much, and her patience is astounding. She falls in love with a man, but refuses to be his mistress...in the end though, she ultimately forgives him for his past and they are able to love each other openly. She is the epitome of patience and forgiveness, two qualities I really admire.

  8. Hey Emma!!
    thx for this great giveway!!!

My favourite beauty product is my MAC Studio Fix foundation... I'm nothing (and look like nothing) without it!!

My favourite movie is DURRRRTY DANCING.... I love that movie soooo much!! The OST is absolutely brilliant, I could dance hours on it!! I also love the cheesy feel to it, the period, the clothes they wear...

My favourite fictionnal character is a lady called "Eustacia Vye", out from a Thomas Hardy Book called "The Return of the Native". I read it at the university in my 2nd year, and at first fell in love with the name which i thought was brilliant. Then I started to read the book and found that the lady was a true Romantic heroin, wild and graceful...I imagined hair with dark hair, wearing huge trains, running through the English countryside... She's still my favourite!!
