Une Femme est Une Femme

Donnacha got a Jean-Luc Godard box set from his parents for Christmas. I have only seen A bout de souffle and I really liked it, so I'm going to try and watch more Godard films now that Donnacha has them on DVD. He was watching Une Femme est une Femme the other day and said to me "you'll love the actress in this film" and he was right! As soon as I saw Anna Karina (who I hadn't heard of before), I thought she looked a lot like Hannah Metz (although in my opinion Hannah is a lot prettier). I loved the clothes she wore in the film so I thought I'd share some screencaps with you. I've been meaning to do a lot more film posts so here's hoping this is the first of many!

I love the 60s hair, the furry collar, the blue bow and the red tights! She basically wears blue, red and white thoughout the entire film. Oh and I love her hair too!

What do you think?

So this is my last post of the year. I've only been blogging for 6 months so I won't be doing a year in review thing that lots of other bloggers are doing. I might do one in June!

Have you any exciting plans to ring in the new year? I'm having some friends over and then going to a party. Hope you all have a great night and I look forward to seeing what 2011 brings to the blogging world.

Love,

Christmas Weekend

This post is a few days overdue but better late than never! I think everyone has pretty much forgotten about Christmas already but I wanted to share some more photos of Christmas day with you all and tell you about last week. We didn't have any water in our apartment from Wednesday until yesterday. It wasn't even because of the cold weather but instead it was our landlord's fault and it made my week a lot more stressful than it needed to be. Thank God everything is back to normal now! The sale prep in work went surprisingly smoothly. I got out of work at 5pm on Christmas Eve and got the train to Skerries. We all had dinner in my granny and grandad's house on Christmas day and stayed there all day singing and drinking and eating and playing games.

I got a lift home on St. Stephen's day because I had to work on Monday morning and Donnacha came up that evening too. The weekend went by a bit too quickly and I barely got time to relax but it was really nice to be home for the weekend and spend time with my family. I hope you all had a lovely time too. Here are some more photos from Saturday, some are from my sisters camera. There are a few goofy ones in there too (they're my faves!).

Most of my presents. Did you get anything nice?

On a very good note, it looks like my manager has moved to another branch of our shop! It's all very hush hush at the moment but we have a replacement manager for the next few weeks because our manager is covering for the manager in another branch for "a few weeks", which apparently is more permanent than they are leading us to believe. I'll keep you posted on what happens but everyone is so happy that she is gone!

I got some things in the sales which I'm hoping to show you tomorrow. I've also got a film post and an outfit post planned for this week.

Have you got any plans for New Years Eve? We're still working on our plans.

Night,

I Wish I Had A River

This is a very quick post because it's late and I need to go to bed! I wanted to share with you some photos my sister and I took on the beach in Skerries on Christmas Day. A more detailed account of the last week to follow tomorrow plus candid family Christmas photos (fun!)

I Hope you had a wonderful time over Christmas!

Here is one of my favourite Christmas songs, although I suppose it's not really a Christmas song, but it is beautiful;

Christmas Party with Friends

On Saturday we had our annual Christmas meal with our friends. We went to an Italian restaurant called Milanos on the quays. Afterwards we went back to Simon's house and had some drinks, listened to music and danced and the guys exchanged Christmas presents! It was a nice end to a great week. Here are some photos from the night;

So it's snowed here again today. The airport is closed and people worried about getting home or getting anywhere. I really hope and pray that it eases up because it would make getting home for Christmas very difficult for a lot of people. I met my mam for lunch today and we did some Christmas shopping (well she did) Although I did see a pair of shoes I have to buy when I get paid! It started snowing heavily after a while so we had to pause our shopping.

Hope you're having better luck with your weather and Christmas shopping!

Keep cosy!
