When in Rome Part I

See what I did up there? Roman numerals! ...... anyway...... Ok so I know I said I'd post these ages ago and I'm sure you were all at the edge of your seat waiting for them (oh self-deprecation!) but I just got done editing them a few days ago so here they are in all their glory! I was going to go with the post title Roman Holiday but instead I went with the name of my favourite Mancunian 80s band (apart from the Smiths obvs). I apologise for the photo heavy nature of this post but if you manage to make it through to the end you're sure to see some real photographic gems! Don't forget to read my running commentary beneath the photos.

Rome1

We got these earphones on our tour bus that are supposed to tell you all about the areas on the bus route but they were absolutely useless so we binned them and just enjoyed the view!

I loved all of the side streets

Rome27

We drove past the Colosseum at night and there was hundreds of people walking past on a protest (I assume it was government related)

Rome28

Fun times down the back of the bus!

So there you have it! A bunch of weirdos running/bussing around Rome. There was about 25 of us at first but little groups formed and everyone kinda did their own thing. That being said I think our group had about 10 of us!

Part II later in the week!

  1. Thanks for the tour (part 1), Emma! I always enjoy seeing you having fun out and about with friends and family. Your whimsical poses rival those of the clever ornaments. There were quite a few album cover possibilities in this batch. That Pantheon ceiling is indeed dizzying. I'm still confused about one thing. What's the difference between a mom, a mam and a mum? :)

  4. I love Rome. These photos bring back really happy memories of travelling around Italy staying in hostels with my friends in my early twenties. Looks like you had a lovely time
