Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse: Holo'daze Edition Mini Gloss Bomb Collection

If you've been reading my blog or following me on Instagram for a while you'll know about my love for the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizers. You can see me wearing them here, here, here, here and here. I've used up the original Fenty Glow shade and I also have Fu$$y (which is Rihanna's fave and mine too) as well as the shades from last years limited edition set, two of which are now part of the permanent range, Hot Chocolit and Cheeky.

I loved the set last year and have been wearing the glosses a lot, they are probably one of my most worn lip products. When I saw this years set I knew I'd end up buying it. There are four mini glosses as opposed to last years five but it's also less expensive at €32. I'm not usually one for limited edition products as I hate that you can't repurchase the product if you like it but I thought it might be interesting for some people to review this as there are plenty of shades of the Gloss Bombs so if you can't get your hands on this you'll definitely be able to get other shades. There are also other Gloss Bomb sets available.

If you love glosses or have tried and loved any of the other Gloss Bomb shades you won't be disappointed in this. If you haven't tried them before, they aren't the most pigmented glosses and I personally prefer that as it means I can wear them alone or layered over liner or lipstick. How they appear on your lips will depend on your natural lip colour and what you have used underneath, if anything. I like to wear a little bit of liner with these glosses most of the time just to give my lips more of a defined shape, however I will also wear them alone. I am wearing the first three shades below with liner and none with Ruby Milk just so you can see how it looks. I have also worn them with a more pigmented lip stain underneath for a stronger colour.

The Gloss Bombs have single handedly turned me back into a gloss girl. I used to only wear glosses when I first started wearing makeup as a teenager (as I'm sure most girls growing up in the early noughties did). When I first tried them two and a half years ago it was love at first application. If you have tried these you know how smooth and comfortable they are and the scent is addictive. Obviously if you don't like gloss this will probably not be for you but I wanted to share it in case you have a gloss lover in your life as I think it would be a lovely gift to receive for the holidays or a birthday.

As you can see below there are varying levels of shimmer in the four shades and I know some people really don't like a glittery gloss in which case I would avoid these as they are very sparkly. I, however love some glitter as you may know and on the lips is no exception.

You'll see below I also have some swatches of the relatively new Cheeks Out Cream Blush in the shade Strawberry Drip and the Full Frontal Mascara in the shade Mi$$ Merlot. I absolutely love the cream blush. I have been using it almost every day for work since I bought it in July. It's a cream formula that is so easy to use, I just tap it onto my cheeks with my fingers and it melts on my skin but you could also use a stippling brush too. I tend to prefer using my fingers as it doesn't move the foundation underneath as much. It's just pigmented enough making it difficult to over apply as can sometimes be the case with liquid or cream colour products. The shade Strawberry Drip is a beautiful coral that brings such life to my face, perfect for the days when you want to look more awake but don't have that much time to do your makeup.

I'm not as crazy about the mascara. To be honest my first disappointment was the colour. Although it looks like a beautiful rich wine/ purple shade, the colour is barely noticeable on my lashes as you can see in the photo below. I don't know whether having more light coloured lashes would help it to show up more. Secondly it's just not my favourite formula. I did really like how it looked on but I tend to prefer a more wet formula that can dry out as you wear it more and more but this formula is more on the dry side to begin with which I find difficult to layer. The finished effect is quite defined and fluttery lashes but it's just not my preferred formula. I know some people love this mascara so it's just about personal preference. It's not a bad product, just not what I prefer.
