Gold Dust Woman

I can't believe I haven't posted since Wednesday! I just haven't had the chance until this afternoon. I found out on Friday that my shift at work will be changing from next week and I'll now be working a later shift every day. At first I was a bit taken aback because I hadn't been consulted about it until Friday. However after thinking about it for a while I think it will be a nice change in my routine. I've been working the same shift for the past 15 months so it'll be a chance to try something different and I'll get an extra hour and a half in bed in the mornings! On Friday evening I went out with some of the girls from work to celebrate payday. We got some food and some delicious cocktails including prosecco with raspberry and whiskey sour, yum!

Here are some more photos from the new camera, we messed around with some filters the other night and the results were awesome, but I want to take some proper photos with the filters to show you.

Myself completely make-upless staring at the computer screen

And I got to take some outfit photos yesterday before going to see Dinner for Schmucks (very weird film, but quite funny). Here they are;

I really think the red wall in the background looks like the sky when you glimpse at it

The Whistle of Love necklace from Jewel Me Pretty. I ordered another adorable necklace from the shop on Thursday. It' so so cute!

I kinda feel like Blossom with my hat on, but that's ok because she's awesome!

I got this satchel in the River Island men's section. It was nicer and less expensive than the women's ones. My mam told me today that it's exactly like the one she had on her first day of school! The one I got is sold out on the website now, I wanted the yellow one but they didn't have it in the shop

A side view of the bow on my hat. The guy said he can make them in any colour felt with any colour ribbon!

I'm wearing a very plain black dress, tights, grey socks, River Island two tone brogues and a houndstooth cardigan I got in work last year.

My lipstick is Revlon Really Red, in case you were wondering

Today I had lunch with my mam, dad and brother. Then they drove me out to the Ultimate Ladies Day Out in the RDS in Dublin. I only went in for about half an hour to get some cheap make up, Holly gave me her pass as she was working at it on Friday and Saturday so I didn't have to pay in! I got some Bourjois and Benefit make up because they had a promotion on where you could get 5 items for €10. A lot of it was the same stuff, but I got some nice colours that I know I'll use.

So how was your weekend? Did you do anything nice?

I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, I grew up listening to them because my parents were always playing their music. I finally got to see them live last year and it was amazing!

Here's one of my favourite songs;

Oh Mother Of Pearl I Wouldn't Trade You For Another Girl

I got my hat!!!

It was raining and I couldn't do a proper outfit shoot so I just took a quick photo in the apartment to show my mam because she was dying to see it.

Also, the necklace I won from Jewel Me Pretty on Etsy arrived today. I took some photos of the pretty packaging to show you because it was so nice!

I saw this written on the envelope and I just thought it was such a lovely touch

How adorable is the little tag? The whistle actually works! I love it so much. I'll definitely be buying something else from the shop

Thanks for all your lovely comments recently! How was your weekend?

I'm giving you some Roxy Music. I've been listening to them a lot lately because they're playing an Irish music festival called Electric Picnic and I can't afford to go so I'm a bit sad that I don't get to see them live, but there's always next time!

Have a great evening,

This Must Be The Place

So I guess this my third official outfit post. Take a gander and if you have any thoughts, leave a comment! I'd love to know what you think!

My knotted earrings

My Cookie K's Vintage boots from my last post

I got this vintage 80s dress last year from an ebay store called The Ragged Priest. It's a great store that uses recycled materials to package it's items for shipping. My dress came wrapped up in an old newspaper comic. I thought it was a nice idea

I love my red polka dot scarf. I bought it last year on sale in the kids section at work. I've worn it so many times!

I went to see Piranha 3D today. I'm not really a big fan of the whole 3D thing because of the amount of films that seem to just fall back on it as a device to get people to see a film that they ordinarily wouldn't (because they're usually terrible). Well this one is definitely worth seeing! It's completely ridiculous and there is quite a bit of gratuitous nudity and gore, but it's all for comedic value. It's played completely straight by the actors and I think that's what makes it so good! It also stars the lovely Adam Scott (Step Brothers, Parks and Recreation and Party Down) who I'm totally crushing on right now!

Have you got any exciting plans for the weekend?
I'm helping out on a film shoot all day tomorrow (that's 8am to 10.30pm). Wish me luck!

I'll leave you with one of my favourite Talking Heads songs!

It Rains A Lot This Time Of Year

Yesterday my boyfriend made a full Irish breakfast for my sister and I. Afterwards we walked to the post office to pick up my package from Cookie K's Vintage. I ordered some boots last week and they arrived very quickly! They fit me perfectly which is great because I'm always a bit apprehensive buying shoes online especially with the difference between US and European sizes. Here they are;

I was looking for a pair of boots like these on Etsy for a while but it's very hard to find any in my size.
Then I came across these and they were exactly what I was looking for in my exact size!

Megan sent a lovely little handwritten postcard with the boots. I thought it was such a nice personal touch!

Simon collected us at the post office and we drove out to Killiney beach. Donnacha and Cian went swimming while Shona and I paddled in the shallow water. It's a very stoney beach so I couldn't stand in the water for long because the stones hurt my feet! Instead I buried my feet in the sand. We also had a stone skimming competition, which ended in everyone just grabbing handfuls of stones and throwing them into the sea. We went in search of somewhere to eat, but no one had any ideas so we just went back to our apartment and got fish and chips in Burdocks. Then we bought some beer and went to Simon's house and played an alternate version of pictionary which involved some very strange drawings. We also played Tekken 3, and started Monopoly but a very long and pointless argument over the rules ensued and we gave up!

I love staying up late, it's nice to be able to stay up late this week because normally I have to go to bed early because I get up very early for work. I'm a bit of a night owl and I can survive on very little sleep, having said that it does mean I miss out on half of the day because I sleep in, it's nice do it for my holidays but I do like having the routine of a set wake-up time every day.

So that's been my week off so far. Have you been having a good week?

Flowers On The Walls

Good Evening!

There was another package waiting for me when I got home from work on Friday. However this was not something I bought but instead a nail polish and lip gloss I won in a competition from Glamour magazine. I entered the competition back in May and got a box of fake nails in the post a few weeks later. I didn't think I'd won any of the other prizes and then got this package on Friday! It was a very nice surprise I must say. The nail polish is a coral colour and the lip gloss is a clear one and it smells lovely! I feel rather spoiled, it's nice and I appreciate it more because despite the abundance of new stuff I've shown you on here, I don't actually buy lots of things!

Speaking of free stuff. I got a lovely comment on my last post yesterday from Maria of Lulu Letty saying I had won her Jewel Me Pretty Giveaway! I won $25 store credit so I'll let you know what I decide to get. It's so nice to win something when you're completely not expecting it! Thank you to Maria and Rin of Jewel Me Pretty.com for the generosity!

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day so we went to Dublin Castle and took some photos for my second full outfit post! Here it is;

My Floral Maxi Dress from O Captain. I wanted to wear it full length once before I get it taken up.

My Dear Watson necklace again! The nail polish I'm wearing is the one I won

Swallow Stud Earrings

I love the brightly coloured buildings in Dublin Castle

I don't know what this plant is called but doesn't it look like it's covered in snow!

We ate burgers for lunch and got authentic Italian ice-cream in Botticelli's for dessert. I got Tiramisu, Amaretto and Coffeecrunch! Yum! Then we finished off the evening with some strawberry and lime cider and an intimate gig in Anseo where we watched Rhob Cunningham (Our Little Secrets) play.

Here are some photos from yesterday that I messed around with;

How was your weekend? I had a lovely one! I have less than one week left of being 23 and only 3 days until my holidays from work! I'm not going anywhere but it will be nice to have nothing at all to do. I have some fun things planned though!

I shall leave you with a video of Rhob when he played support for Tori Amos in The Iveagh Gardens in June. Let me know what you think!
