We are currently in the depths of Leo Season, it's my birthday in a couple of days and my daughter's next week. I wanted to create a makeup look inspired by this fiery, fierce and feline astrological sign. It also happened to be International Cat Day when I posted this look on Instagram which was a perfect coincidence. The video is at the end of this post if you'd like to see how I created the look.
I based the liner on the eyes of a lion with dramatic black inner corners, black liner all around the waterline and then out into a sharp, exaggerated wing. I used some of the Bakeup Beauty dagger stickers on the lower outer corners to look like little golden claws. I did this whole look quite quickly as I didn't have a lot of time to film the makeup application but I still wanted something that would make an impact. This look is all about the intensity of the eyes so I thought muted but glossy lips would work well. I paired Lisa Eldridge's Velveteen Fawn with Gloss Embrace in Silent Sun.
My base consisted of some products from the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk range that I was sent in a recent press drop. I bought the Luminous Silk Foundation in 2018, almost 5 years ago, after the Katie Janes Hughes event in Brown Thomas. It was a ticketed event and the price was redeemable against products in the Beauty Hall. I took this as my opportunity to finally try Luminous Silk and it did not disappoint. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful foundations I've ever used and the only reason I haven't repurchased it is because I have so many other foundations in rotation. I'm very happy to have it back in my collection along with the Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer and Concealer. I wear shade 2 and it's a great match for me. You can see me wearing it here, here and here.
To softly sculpt my face and add colour to my cheeks I used the Hindash Cosmetics Color Fluid liquid pigments (see the swatches below). I like to mix Carve and Thorn with some foundation or concealer to add some dimension to my face as a bronzing/contouring hybrid. I then mixed Rising and Heartist with the Lisa Eldridge Elevated Glow Highlighter in Pink Moon to create a luminous, warm blush. You only need the tiniest amount of the Color Fluids as they are such saturated pigments. I love that they allow me to mix custom shades for my skin tone and they have been formulated to be worn anywhere on the face which is ideal for anyone who wants to make the most of their makeup products.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I hope you found it helpful, interesting or entertaining in some way. I've been keeping a low profile this week as tomorrow is the anniversary of Milo's due date. I never expect it to affect me the way it does but it brings everything to the forefront of my mind and I can't help but think about how if he'd lived he would be turning 3 around now. It's a date that will always have such significance to me as I'll never know when he would have been born. Working on this blog post has given me a welcome distraction this week and has allowed me to concentrate on something I love to do. I've also been trying to focus my attention on organising my daughter's second birthday (I can't believe it). I hope you're all doing well, please let me know if there's anything you'd like to see me review in greater detail or if there is any makeup look you'd like to see in a video.
