Donnacha got me this Mad Men book for Christmas. The illustrations are really great, it's such a cute book. It has cocktail recipes and tips for hair and make up. I recommend it to any of you guys who love Mad Men

How awesome are these Revlon and Max Factor ads?

If you know me you'll know how much I love all things Moomin so I had to buy these when I saw them. They're so cute and have really nice thoughts in them!

This is the second Dave Eggers book I've bought. I want to start reading them soon. I'm terrible for concentrating on reading so I have to make myself do it!

Grace Kelly was my Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. I don't know why but I've always just loved her. She was so beautiful and talented and seemed like a lovely lady. My mam had a book about her when I was a kid and I loved looking at all her beautiful dresses in it.

She was always dressed so immaculately. I love those sunglasses!

I had to buy this when I saw it on sale. The drawings and paintings are adorable!

What do you think of my new books? I'm a very visual person so I much prefer books like these with visuals.

You may have noticed my photos are bigger than usual. I spent part of today working on a Flickr account and decided it was time I made my photos larger. Hope you like it!

I went to my friend's house last night for his birthday party. We danced until 5.30am, it was so much fun! I hope you're having a lovely weekend. I didn't get to take outfit photos this weekend but I should have two this week!

Pretty Packages and an Early Birthday Present

Don't you just love getting packages? I got another one today. It's so exciting! I think that's half the fun of getting presents at Christmas and birthdays. The anticipation of seeing what's inside! My package today was a necklace I ordered from BrideBlu on Etsy. I first saw the necklace here on Maria's blog Lulu Letty and I fell in love with how delicate it looked and the beautiful colour. Luckily for me, I was able to order one and at a very reasonable price. I can see myself wearing it with a lot of outfits, I just love it! Here it is;

I also got an early birthday present from my boyfriend today. He went shopping for it today and came home and told me it was really cool so of course me being the most curious person in the world, I was dying to know what it was. I think he was as excited as I was so he offered to let me have it early and as you can imagine it didn't take too much convincing! He handed me a paper bag from Avoca and inside was this;

A Moomin Wallet!!!

Isn't it great! I actually cried, I can't believe I did, but there you go! I didn't even know these things existed! It's such a nice wallet aswell, the brown faux leather inside, the pink outside. It's so perfect for me! Thank you Donnacha!

I got this charm bracelet today for my sister. Well I didn't actually pay for it, she bought a ring in my work on Friday but it broke the first time she wore it so I went to exchange it today and got her something else because apparently that particular ring has been returned broken several times so it must not be the best quality. I hope she'll like it!

So there you go, a quick post today. I was going to wait until I took some outfit photos for my next post to tell you about the things I got today but I was so excited I couldn't wait!

Moomin

I have been busy this week in work with our sale starting and I have been too tired to post until now so I thought I'd write a bit of a funny post and tell you about one of my favourite cartoons from when I was a kid (and now too). When I ask people if they have heard of Moomin they either don't know what I'm talking about or they do and are weirded out by it. I can't remember exactly what age I was when I first saw it, but it was made in the early 90s so I was probably about 6 or 7. It used to be on the UK channel, BBC 1, on weekday mornings and then the Irish channel, Network 2, showed it too. I don't know what it is about Moomin that I love so much. When I look at the DVDs now it's such a strange cartoon. I showed it to some of my friends recently and they were totally freaked out. Heehee! It was orignally a series of books and a comic strip written by Finnish writer/illustrator Tove Jansson that have been published since 1945! There was also a stop motion television series, however the Japanese-Finnish animated series is my favourite.

I have acquired numerous Moomin merchandise over the years from ebay, as gifts and a lady whose children I used to babysit was from Finland and she brought me back things when she would go to Finland to visit her family which I thought was very nice of her. I thought I'd show you some of these things. It was fun to see exactly how much Moomin stuff I have.
