Reflected Light A Hollow Moon

This is the third set of outfit photos we took in France. It wouldn't be Summer without a good maxi dress and this one is all out seventies! I paired it with a big hat, big sunglasses and my trusty Clarks nude sandals.

Let The Sun Wrap It's Arms Around Me

We went to Skerries last Saturday to get some relief from the heat of the city. We spent the day sitting on the beach and walking around the harbour and of course we stopped to take some photos along the way.

This kimono is something I would never normally go for but I saw it in work and I just really loved it. I thought it would be perfect to brighten up a simple Summer outfit and I've been wearing it loads so far this Summer. As you can see I'm really into rings at the moment. I love my turquoise Zara Taylor ones and my (new) vintage ones that I got with a gift voucher recently at an Antiques Fair in Dublin. I've been wearing them almost non-stop since I got them, I couldn't believe it when they fit me and they added up to the value of the voucher, I really got lucky there. I got these sunglasses back in March after searching "large white sunglasses" on eBay, they were such a steal at less than $3 with free shipping. I've seen similar pairs in a few different shops for a lot more money, I love eBay for getting great bargains.

I was just looking back at my last outfit post in May and I thought how funny it was that my style is so different in this one. That's what I really love about fashion/style, I love expressing myself and my mood through what I wear. It's so much fun!

I've been wearing my hair up for about two weeks straight because of the heat. My hair is so thick that leaving it down is just not an option. The heatwave we had this past week in Ireland has been insufferable for me, like most Irish people I just wasn't made for this kind of heat, especially when we're not equipped with air conditioning.

I've had such a busy week this week, starting with a picnic last Sunday with friends in the Iveagh Gardens. Our Summer sale started in work so we've been run of our feet. On Wednesday I went to the launch party for a new Irish website called Frillseeker, it's a great mix of beauty, lifestyle, fashion and other bits and pieces. It was a fun night and I got some lovely things in my goody bag that I've been trying out and loving, I'll definitely be doing some some product reviews on them soon.

We were in Carlow over the weekend and it was so hot, we mostly sat in the garden reading, playing with Buddy the dog and enjoying spending time with Donnacha's parents. We went to Skerries again yesterday to cool down. It was so nice to get some fresh sea air, we had ice-cream, sat on the beach, then went for a long walk on the south strand and home again for a barbecue with my cousins. The next two weeks look to be just as action-packed with some nice days off too.

I've probably written a bit too much but I just wanted to catch up and fill you in on what I've been up to for those of you who were in any way curious. How has your Summer been so far? Are you enjoying the weather?

PS. I don't think I've mentioned it yet but I'm excited to tell you that I'm going back to Paris in November for a week. Donnacha and I are going with Kate, Eric and our friend Simon this time. I'm so excited to be going back, I can't wait to further explore the city.

Zara Taylor Jewellery

If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know I'm a bit mad about jewellery. I tend to get a lot of things in work with my staff discount but I prefer to spend a bit extra and invest in unusual and good quality pieces. One of my favourite sites for getting really gorgeous jewellery is Zara Taylor. I've talked about her jewellery before and I've worn it in a few outfit posts. I've just added to my collection so I thought I'd share all of the pieces I own with you because I think they are so beautiful and unique and they make great presents (I've bought several things as presents for people).

The ring above is my most recent purchase, I got it at 25% off with a code Zara put on her facebook page, so if you like the jewellery I'd encourage you to like her page as she does really good deals from time to time. Check out her blog too where you can get a bit more of an in depth look into the designs and Zara herself who seems like a really lovely person and has always been so friendly and helpful any time I've interacted with her.

Hope you've all been having a great week. Mine has flown by! I've been very busy, spending time with family and I had a lovely meal for my friend Lisa's birthday last night. I also had a bit of a mad day in work today as I was coerced into doing some "modelling" for a lookbook the area manager is putting together to help staff with ideas on how to style their uniform. There was myself and another girl from our branch and then two girls from another branch and you might think having a blog with a 'style' element to it would make me the perfect candidate but it's one thing wearing your own clothes and having your boyfriend take your photo in a secluded area, it's another to have someone take photos of you in clothes you're not completely comfortable in on the shop floor in work!

Luckily my manager let me choose the clothes myself and the ladies visual merchandiser was the photographer for the day and really put me at ease. I know it's not a big deal but I was so nervous! I really don't know how models do it!

We're Off To See The Wizard

I'm so excited to show you some of my recent purchases. I bought a ring and a necklace from True Birds Vintage Ispired Jewellery (Zara Taylor). I've worn her My Dear Watson necklace here and here. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned my love of The Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz here before so when I saw these items I just had to have them!

If any of you have seen Return to Oz, you might remember the key Dorothy finds in the yard and uses later in the film when running from the scary Wheelers! This is an exact replica of that key and is something I've always wanted! The ring reminds me of the ornaments in the Nome King's palace, plus I love anything emerald green. What do you think? Do you like them as much as me?

If I had more patience I would have waited to show you these in an outfit post but I'm one of the most impatient people I know (one of my many flaws) so I just had to take some quick photos and show you today.

More recent purchases tomorrow and an outfit post at the weekend!
