Un, Deux, Trois

TGIF!!!

The back to school weather strikes again! Another hot day in Dublin. The weather really has been gorgeous this week. Unfortunately though I'm not feeling very well so I stayed in today and experimented with the lenses on Donnacha's new camera taking photos of some of the things I bought to go with my uniform in work today. Here they are;

I also received my second package from Jewel Me Pretty. If you haven't already taken a look at the store I really encourage you to do so. Buying something from Rin is worth it for the packaging alone! I photographed the package for you to see;

How cute is this?!

The camera takes some great photos right? I used the macro lens and 3 close up lenses to get the extreme close ups. It's so fun playing with the camera! So what do you think of my Jewel Me Pretty package? I love it, the Kitty necklace is just the cutest thing!
I can't wait to lie in tomorrow, we haven't made any plans yet but if the weather is nice we will hopefully get to go out and enjoy the last days of summer. Have you any exciting plans for the weekend?

This song is really growing on me. It doesn't hurt that a have a bit of a crush on Mark Ronson. What do you think?

You're The Only Thing I Ever Want Anymore

The weather today was beautiful. It was so hot and sunny! After work I went to Dublin Castle and read the new Elle and had some lemonade and a pastry. It was so nice and relaxing, until some junkies came along and started rolling spliffs under the bridge. Typical! Haha! Then Donnacha and I went to collect some packages at the post office. Mine was my hat, I love it! Not as much as my birthday hat obviously, but it's very nice. When we got home I let Donnacha assemble my desk because I'm generous like that, lol, it wasn't easy because the screwdrivers we bought we really rubbish. Eventually though, he did it and now I have a cute little corner of my own with my desk! Here is photographic evidence of my day;

I don't know why they chose Kate Hudson to be on the 25th Anniversary Special Collector's Issue, I guess I'll have to read it to find out!

What do you think of my little corner? I like having my own space to work

Some books I'm planning on reading at some stage. I'm not a very dedicated reader so I have to make myself do it, but once I do I'm usually very happy I did

My Moomin photo clippy thing that I forgot to put in my Moomin post and is now on my desk

My new leather shoes. They're a bit big so I'll have to wear thick socks with them

My new dress from Etsy. I love the gold buttons!

The hat. I'll try to get some photos of myself wearing it at the weekend

For those of you who do not live here, there's an Irish music festival taking place this weekend called Electric Picnic. Roxy Music, Massive Attack, The National, Modest Mouse, Eels, Hot Chip and Villagers are playing to name a few. I really don't like festivals and I think more people go for the weekend that's in it than the music which makes me sad because they'll get to see bands I love and they've never even heard of :( But it's okay, I'm going to get a ticket to Beach House and Arcade Fire (hopefully) so that should make up for it. I'm mostly sad I'm missing The National! Well I hope those of you who are going make the most of it and please, please go and see the bands listed above because they're all great! Oh and "Try not to wonder what the weather will be".

To honour the fact that they will be playing this weekendI'm leaving you with another National song. Enjoy!

Gold Dust Woman

I can't believe I haven't posted since Wednesday! I just haven't had the chance until this afternoon. I found out on Friday that my shift at work will be changing from next week and I'll now be working a later shift every day. At first I was a bit taken aback because I hadn't been consulted about it until Friday. However after thinking about it for a while I think it will be a nice change in my routine. I've been working the same shift for the past 15 months so it'll be a chance to try something different and I'll get an extra hour and a half in bed in the mornings! On Friday evening I went out with some of the girls from work to celebrate payday. We got some food and some delicious cocktails including prosecco with raspberry and whiskey sour, yum!

Here are some more photos from the new camera, we messed around with some filters the other night and the results were awesome, but I want to take some proper photos with the filters to show you.

Myself completely make-upless staring at the computer screen

And I got to take some outfit photos yesterday before going to see Dinner for Schmucks (very weird film, but quite funny). Here they are;

I really think the red wall in the background looks like the sky when you glimpse at it

The Whistle of Love necklace from Jewel Me Pretty. I ordered another adorable necklace from the shop on Thursday. It' so so cute!

I kinda feel like Blossom with my hat on, but that's ok because she's awesome!

I got this satchel in the River Island men's section. It was nicer and less expensive than the women's ones. My mam told me today that it's exactly like the one she had on her first day of school! The one I got is sold out on the website now, I wanted the yellow one but they didn't have it in the shop

A side view of the bow on my hat. The guy said he can make them in any colour felt with any colour ribbon!

I'm wearing a very plain black dress, tights, grey socks, River Island two tone brogues and a houndstooth cardigan I got in work last year.

My lipstick is Revlon Really Red, in case you were wondering

Today I had lunch with my mam, dad and brother. Then they drove me out to the Ultimate Ladies Day Out in the RDS in Dublin. I only went in for about half an hour to get some cheap make up, Holly gave me her pass as she was working at it on Friday and Saturday so I didn't have to pay in! I got some Bourjois and Benefit make up because they had a promotion on where you could get 5 items for €10. A lot of it was the same stuff, but I got some nice colours that I know I'll use.

'Moody'

So how was your weekend? Did you do anything nice?

I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, I grew up listening to them because my parents were always playing their music. I finally got to see them live last year and it was amazing!

Here's one of my favourite songs;

Oh Mother Of Pearl I Wouldn't Trade You For Another Girl

I got my hat!!!

It was raining and I couldn't do a proper outfit shoot so I just took a quick photo in the apartment to show my mam because she was dying to see it.

Also, the necklace I won from Jewel Me Pretty on Etsy arrived today. I took some photos of the pretty packaging to show you because it was so nice!

I saw this written on the envelope and I just thought it was such a lovely touch

How adorable is the little tag? The whistle actually works! I love it so much. I'll definitely be buying something else from the shop

Thanks for all your lovely comments recently! How was your weekend?

I'm giving you some Roxy Music. I've been listening to them a lot lately because they're playing an Irish music festival called Electric Picnic and I can't afford to go so I'm a bit sad that I don't get to see them live, but there's always next time!

Have a great evening,
