Strawberry Letter 23- Moondust Eyes and Prada Lips

This look is from February as I'm a bit behind with my blog posts. I've been trying to write a corresponding post for every makeup application video I film. I wanted to take close-up photos of the makeup so that you can see the end result as well as the application. I had just received this palette and lipstick in press drops and I was so excited to try both.

I was taken with this lipstick as soon as I saw it at the Prada Beauty counter. It’s such a happy, strawberry, summer red. I wanted to base the whole look around the lipstick but I also wanted to try out the Moondust Eyeshadow Palette so I just decided to go for it. I loved how this look turned out, three of my favourite things combined, wet look eyeshadow, a little cat eye and red lips.

The Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadows have been around for years but in the past year or two, they have had a resurgence mainly due to the virality of the shade Space Cowboy. I don't own that particular shade but a couple of years ago when they were repackaged I was sent the shade Lithium which is a beautiful cool brown. It's not as versatile as Space Cowboy but it's a great one and done wet-look eyeshadow. I was never tempted by Space Cowboy mainly because I have my collection of Bodyography Glitter Pigments which I love and they have always scratched my wet-look eyeshadow itch. Coincidentally, a couple of weeks before I received the Moondust Palette, I bought my second Moondust single eyeshadow in the shade Solstice (which you can see here). Last Year Urban Decay released two Limited Edition Moondust Quads, Space Rider and Galactic Cowgirl. I was sent the latter and even though Space Cowboy is in the Space Rider palette, I prefer the shades in the one I was sent. For some reason these palettes are Limited Edition and I can only find Space Rider on Millies and Galactic Cowgirl on Boots. I think they should be permanent considering the popularity of the Moondust formula. It seems like a mistake for Urban Decay to not make them a part of the permanent collection. All that to say, if they interest you and you can find them somewhere that ships to you, be aware that they are limited edition and may be gone soon. Although there are similar shades to most of the ones in the palettes in the single Moondust range.

I did a wash of the Moondust shade Cosmic Cowgirl and then a thin winged liner just on the outer corner. Even though I was pairing glitter eyeshadow, liner and red lipstick, I wanted it to not be too much. I hope you like the look!

Silver Dagger- Prada Beauty Eyes and Lips

A couple of months ago I was sent a press drop of one of the Prada Beauty Dimensions Eyeshadow Palettes. The palette name is 02 Profusion which as you can see has the most amazing colour story with a pop of chartreuse yellow. It’s based on a print from the Prada house archive and contains four different finishes- satin, soft matte, hyper matte and mega foil. I also have a swatching video of the palette so you can see the detail close up. I wanted to do quite a simple look so that I could get a feel for the eyeshadow formula. I used the silver mega foil formula and the mink satin formula and they are so creamy and easy to work with, I have included the application video of this look below so you can see just how easily they apply and blend out. There are six palettes, each with a bright pop of colour alongside some gorgeous neutrals.

On my lips, I used the Prada Beauty Hyper Matte lipstick that I bought a couple of months ago from Selfridges. I've been sent a couple of these lipsticks too but the shade I bought is B01 Argile. It had my heart from the moment I saw it last year when Prada Beauty first launched. It's a beautiful light neutral shade that almost has some grey to it. I've seen this shade on various skin tones and it looks great on everyone. It's a matte formula but I like to wear it over a lip balm too for a more sheer and hydrating finish. If you're near a Prada Beauty counter, I highly recommend checking out these lipsticks in person because the formulas are beautiful and there are some really unique shades.

I’ve been wanting to use these Bakeup Beauty Daggers again and I thought this would be the perfect look, using them almost as bottom eyelashes paired with the silver eyelids. I'm also wearing the Prada Foundation which has quickly become one of my favourite base products. I've been using it for four months now and I absolutely love it. I'm planning on doing a full review as I know it's been one of the most popular foundation launches of the last year. I'll take before and after photos and compare the shade to my other base products for reference. I hope you enjoy seeing the makeup and products up close in the photos below!

Blushing Lizard

This post contains affiliate links, if you buy something based on my recommendation using the links below, I will receive a small commission but it won't cost you anything extra.

I have been wanting to try the Half Magic Beauty single eyeshadow, ‘Blushing Lizard’ since it was released last year but it was almost always out of stock on Beauty Bay. I finally managed to nab it when it came back in stock in January (it’s since gone out of stock again but is available on the Half Magic website). I actually bought the Urban Decay Moondust in the shade Solstice too as I was curious about how they compared. I filmed a Reel for Instagram comparing both which you can see here and I've included some comparison photos below too. Blushins Lizard is described as a “mauve taupe with blue reflects”. When worn alone it’s quite sheer which makes it an excellent topper as it transforms any shade you choose to wear beneath it. I wore this exact look a couple of times before I filmed it I had a couple of people comment on the eyeshadow when I was out and about, so I thought it would be a good one to film since it was an IRL hit. It’s such an easy but impactful look and I kept the rest of the colour makeup in the same colour family so that it was more cohesive.

I’ve been wearing the Fenty Beauty Fu$$y gloss quite a bit recently as it’s one of my favourites (and a repurchase, you can see some blog posts of me wearing it here) and I hadn’t worn it in a while. I thought it was the perfect shade to go with this look and I even did the recent ‘double gloss’ trend I saw from Fenty and I love how it looks, as long as the glosses aren’t too thick it looks great!

Armani Eye Tints

These Armani Eye Tints are my first venture into the Giorgio Armani beauty range, for shame! After trying these just once I could already see why people rave about Armani Beauty. The products are such beautiful quality.

The Eye Tints come in 12 shades ranging from pale neutrals to vibrant greens and dark blues, there is something for everyone. I have never tried an eye colour like these before. The innovative formula uses a unique water/pigment suspension which means that the fine pearl pigment is dispersed evenly across the eyelids and stays put for up to 16 hours without creasing or smudging.

I was sent two shades from the new Eye Tint range, Cold Copper and Rose Ashes. As you can see from the swatches below, Cold Copper is a champagne gold shade while Rose Ashes is a dusky pale pink shade.

Rose Ashes, Cold Copper

These are the perfect everyday eye make up shades because they are so easy to wear. I use the applicator to apply the product to my eyelids and blend it out with a fluffy blending brush, I'm sure you could use fingers to blend if you prefer. I've worn the shades alone and with brown eye liner smudged at the lash line or with black liquid liner as you can see below. You can also use one wash of colour or blend it out and layer up the product so that you get a more intense colour pay off. I'd imagine this would be great for the darker shades and because the formula is so lightweight it doesn't feel like you have lots of product on your eyelids.

You can see above the fine pearlised pigment which looks stunning on the eyes, especially when it catches the light.

I love the sleek packaging of the Eye Tints, I like that you can see the product in the tube. It's sturdy and hard wearing which makes them great for when you're travelling. I love the applicator as I find it gives a precise amount of product and makes it so easy to apply the Tints to my eyelids. You could also take a fine liner brush and use it as eye liner.

I've been wearing these on an almost daily basis since I got them because I find them so handy for my morning make up routine when I don't have that much time to get ready but I still want to look like I've made an effort with my make up. Both of these shades look great with a bit of eye liner to define the lash line and then a bright lip shade. The lasting power is incredible too, you don't need to use any primer as they last all day (and night) without an sign of creasing which I find to be a huge bonus. I feel like these could be the perfect eye product for the warmer Summer months when you want to wear make up but don't want to worry about it smudging and melting from your face.

There are some gorgeous shades I'd be interested in trying like Shadow, Senso, Green Iron and Emeraude. I definitely want to add some more of these to my collection. The Eye Tints are priced at €32 and are available in Ireland from Brown Thomas. I really think you get value for your money as the quality is second to none and to me it's such a unique product.

What do you think? Have you tried these yet?
